In almost a decade, the Cross River state government’s policy with respect to forest management has largely failed. As a result, the state has witnessed unprecedented forest loss which has now extended into the state forest reserves and the national park.

The Roundtable will leverage on the emergence of a new administration in Cross River State to bring together experts in the field to develop a set of recommendations to guide the incoming administration on policies and actions required to immediately confront the challenge of deforestation.
